Work Out Your Salvation - Philippians 2:12b-13

S. “…work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.”

O. Paul encourages believers to work hard or to work “out” their salvation. This does not mean that they are to work “for” their salvation. Our salvation in Christ Jesus is by grace through faith, not of works. But once we have placed our faith in Jesus Christ, we are to work out our faith fully; that is to fashion our faith; to show good things that reflect that we belong to God.

In V. 13 Paul shares how God is doing His part, giving us desire and power. We need to do our part in the “working out” of our salvation, using our time, will, to read, pray, reflect, preach, teach and share Christ Jesus with everyone.

A. I hope that you will join me in working harder to reflect the desire and power that God has given us.

P. Thank you Father for such a great salvation. Thank you that you give us desire and power. Holy Spirit continue to prompt us and to lead us to work out this wonderful salvation in our lives.
