S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge – Day #5 February 5, 2024 “The Power of a Promise Kept”

S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge – Day #5 February 5, 2024 “The Power of a Promise Kept”

S. Psalm 15:1, 4 (NIV) “Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? … The one who … keeps an oath even when it hurts, who does not change their mind.”

 O. David describes the qualities of those who are worshippers of the one true God. Of these qualities (there are several listed here), I’m noting this one – “the one who keeps an oath even when it hurts.”  Integrity is so important in life in general – but also as a worshipper of the one true God. It’s a sign I think of purity in a person’s life. God looks for worshippers who are people of integrity – keeping promises even when it is hard or at great cost. People like that show a trustworthiness.

 A. I desire to be that kind of person – one who keeps his promises even at great cost. I call this “the Power of a Promise Kept” – because it is a great witness to people around me and it is something that honors God and what God blesses.

P. Lord, thank you for your word today. Holy Spirit, fill me and guide me to be a person known by others and by God for keeping his promises – even at a great, personal cost. In Jesus’ name!

S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge – Day #4 February 4, 2024 “The Reward of Obeying God’s Word?”

S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge – Day #4 February 4, 2024 “The Reward of Obeying God’s Word?”

 S. Psalm 19:13 (NIV) “Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me.”

 O. David writes this wonderful Psalm. He describes the revelation that God provides us – through creation (v.1-6) and through His word (v.7-14). It is by God’s reliable and steady word that we can live to please God. We do not need to live with behaviors and actions that defeat us. We can experience victory by obedience to His Word.

A.I will continue to read the Word. I will not only read it, but I will also study it. I will think on it deeply that it might penetrate me thoroughly so that I too might live out verse 14: May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. – Psalm 19:14 (NIV)

P. Thank you Lord for your word today. Holy Spirit fill me and guide me. Maye these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart, be pleasing in your sight – Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer

S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge – Day #3 February 3, 2024 “Can I Get A Witness?”

S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge – Day #3 February 3, 2024 “Can I Get A Witness?”

S. Acts 10:41-43 (NIV) 41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.

 O. Peter shares that those who have experienced a relationship with Jesus have been commanded (by Jesus) to be His witnesses. The role of a witness is essentially two-fold: To say, “This is what I saw, and this is what I heard.”

Believers of Jesus, Christ followers, are to serve as witnesses – sharing the Gospel and serving as witnesses to Jesus’ resurrection and saving power in their lives.

A.I will continue to preach the good news of Jesus. I will continue to serve as a witness of His resurrection power. Further, I will continue to teach others to do this very thing – to share their story with others and to be a witness of Jesus’ power.

P. Thank you Lord for your word today. Holy Spirit, fill me and guide me to share my story and to serve as a witness of your resurrection power. In Jesus’ name.
