S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge – Day #5 February 5, 2024 “The Power of a Promise Kept”
S. Psalm 15:1, 4 (NIV) “Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? … The one who … keeps an oath even when it hurts, who does not change their mind.”
O. David describes the qualities of those who are worshippers of the one true God. Of these qualities (there are several listed here), I’m noting this one – “the one who keeps an oath even when it hurts.” Integrity is so important in life in general – but also as a worshipper of the one true God. It’s a sign I think of purity in a person’s life. God looks for worshippers who are people of integrity – keeping promises even when it is hard or at great cost. People like that show a trustworthiness.
A. I desire to be that kind of person – one who keeps his promises even at great cost. I call this “the Power of a Promise Kept” – because it is a great witness to people around me and it is something that honors God and what God blesses.
P. Lord, thank you for your word today. Holy Spirit, fill me and guide me to be a person known by others and by God for keeping his promises – even at a great, personal cost. In Jesus’ name!
