21 Days Of Prayer - Day #2 Monday, January 8, 2024 All About Jesus -

Day 2 - Monday January 8, 2024

Today’s Theme: The Year of Miracles - All About Jesus

Today we’re going to pray one of the names of God.

Today the name is “Jesus is My Lord.”

Savior used 59 times, Lord is used over 7,000 times.

He wants full control of your life.

Philippians 2:6-11 (NIV)

Who, being in very nature God,  did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing  by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.8 And being found in appearance as a man,  he humbled himself  by becoming obedient to death—   even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place  and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,     in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,   to the glory of God the Father.

How do you make Him Lord?  Through death. We come here in this place of prayer to die.

Three times in Galatians we are told to crucify something

1. Crucify SELF

Take parts of me and give them to God (eyes, hands, mouth). I want to see what you see.

2. Crucify my flesh.

My appetites. The part of me that wants to go away from God.

Flesh - lust for things

Power Money and Sex (PMS)

We’re taking those parts of us that have appetite. We don’t follow feelings - we  follow God.

3. Crucify the World.

Find a part of the world that is way too enamored - everytime you see it just say “God I don’t need that in my life.”

S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge – Day #30, September 30, 2023 “Resolve to Receive God’s Blessings”

S. Zechariah 8:12 (NIV) “The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its crops, and the heavens will drop their dew. I will give all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people…Do not be afraid, but your hands be strong…”

O. God promises to bless His people Israel again. As people look to the Lord, He lets it be known of His desire to bless them, to make them productive and fruitful.

This is true for any of God’s people. If we will set our hearts on Him, obey His word and live by faith, He will bring about blessing. (God is a giver, a blesser and a rewarder)

A. I will not fear. I will strengthen my resolve (let your hands be strong) and trust Him with unwavering faith. I too desire to see His blessings in my life, my family’s life and the life of my church.

P.  Thank you, Lord, for your word today – that your desire is to bless. You are truly a blesser, a giver and a rewarder. Holy Spirit fill me guide me to strengthen my resolve to continue in what God calls me to do. In Jesus’ name.

S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge – Day #29, September 29, 2023 “Don’t Worry”

S. Luke 12:22-25 (NIV) “Then Jesus said to His disciples; ‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens; they do not sow or reap; they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than bird.’.”

O. Jesus teaches us to not worry but trust Him with provision. He takes care of birds, flowers, and the grass (v.27) – how much He will take care of each of us since we are even more valuable to Him. These creatures and creation do not sow or reap – yet they are provided for. However, we have the added blessing of being encouraged to sow and reap (2 Cor. 8-9; Gal. 6); knowing that God honors His word – worry should have no place in our life.

A. Having financial provision for the future can be something that I worry about. It is an area the enemy brings to my mind – yet I will focus on the kingdom work God has called me to and not give worry any place in my life. I know God is true to His word and will bless and provide.

P.  Thank you, Lord, for your word today. Forgive me when I allow worry and fear into my mind. Holy Spirit, fill me with thoughts and desires of Kingdom work and trusting the Father to provide as He desires. In Jesus’ name.
