S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge, Day #11 April 11,2022 "God's Truly Amazing Grace"

S. 1 Samuel 12:20-24 (NIV) 20 “Do not be afraid,” Samuel replied. “You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart. 21 Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless. 22 For the sake of his great name the Lord will not reject his people, because the Lord was pleased to make you his own. 23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right. 24 But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.

O. God is so gracious to His people. Despite Israel’s failures, He is still willing to lead them and to bless them. This is in the face of them asking for a King (God had been their king but they are essentially kicking God to the curb) and they are worshipping idols. Yet God extends His grace to them. He asks of His people to worship Him (revere Him), to serve Him faithfully with a whole heart and to remember all He has done for them (If He’s done it in the past, He’ll do it again.)

A. God’s grace really is amazing. Despire my failures, God simply wants me to get up, hold his name in high honor (worship) and for me to serve Him with a whole heart, knowing this - He has blessed me in the past and He will continue to do that again.

P. Thank you Father for your amazing grace. Throughout your Word it is so evident that you simply desire your people to serve you with a whole heart, to worship and adore you, and to enjoy your blessings. Holy Spirit fill me and lead me to continue to serve God with whole heart devotion and to enjoy god’s ongoing grace and blessings. In Jesus’ name.
