S. Acts 17:22-23 22 Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.
O. Paul used that which people were familiar with to teach them about Jesus (whom they were not familiar with). He referenced their altar to an “unknown God.” He also quoted two of their Cretan poets to help develop his message and direct them to Jesus.
We should be mindful of the things in our culture and use everything that is available to us to get people’s attention and direct them to Jesus.
A I will continue to do all I can, use all of the information at my disposal that people are familiar with, to proclaim Jesus and direct people to Him.
P. Thank you Father for your word today. Holy Spirit fill me with wisdom and insight to use all the resources around me to share the Lord Jesus with others. In Jesus’ name!
