In 2015 I learned that my knees were no longer able to take the pounding of road workouts (running 5K, 10K, etc.) so just recently I took up weight training.  I used to do a little of this back in the late 70's.

I really enjoy it.  I believe that we need to have some balance in our lives.  The Apostle Paul wrote to a young pastor, Timothy, saying:  “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” (1 Timothy 4:8). He does indicate there is some profitability to physical exercise, but I also think Paul is indicating balance between the physical and the spiritual.

The Apostle John underscores, I think, Paul's note saying, 1 This letter is from John, the elder. I am writing to Gaius, my dear friend, whom I love in the truth. 2 Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit." (3 John v.1-3)

So, I am hoping for such balance in my life.  Here's a sample video of a typical 6 AM workout. .  I hope this give you encouragement into prioritizing and maintaining disciplines in your spiritual life and in the physical.
