21 Days of Prayer -Day 18 -Wednesday- August 23, 2023-- Prayer Focus - Daily Prayers For Growth

 Job 42:5 (HCSB)

I had heard rumors about you, but now my eyes have seen You.

 Psalm 139:1-6 (NLT)

O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.

2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.  You know everything I do.4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!I spend asking God to do things for me but I don’t seem to spend much time for God to do things inside me.

I don’t just want God’s power externally, but I also want it internally.

David has a revelation, God doesn’t just look at us and see a crowd, he sees an individual.

David was overwhelmed by God’s goodness.

In this text, David is always using the working of “you and I.”  He’s acknowledging that God is working in his life - working inside him.

 Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT)

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

This is David’s prayer. David is so much in love with God, he says I’m just going to keep running toward you.

What would it look like for all us if we ask God to “investigate our lives” from the depths - to truly search us.

We should leave 21 days of prayer with us looking totally different than when we started.

Daily Prayers for Growth

1.Search and show me.

God dig out the things in my life .. dig out the treasures in my life that I have not accessed.

If there are any areas that don’t look like Jesus, please remove them.

2.Test and renew my thoughts.

David since you know my anxious thoughts, cross examine my thoughts and remove any thoughts that are not glorifying you.

Holy Spirit - renew my mind.

3.Point out and lead me.

Change me Lord and guide me - lead me into a deeper relationship with you

21 Days In Prayer - Day 17 -Tuesday- August 22, 2023-- Prayer Focus - Spiritual Warfare

21 Days In Prayer - Day 17 -Tuesday- August 22, 2023-- Prayer Focus - Spiritual Warfare

 The Armor of God

We’re not a “devils under every rock,” type of church, yet He is a

Jesus already accomplished victory over the enemy at the cross and resurrection.

Jesus won the battle,  The devil has power, but he has to respond to a higher authority. Jesus.

 1 John 4:4 (NIV)

4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

The creation is subject to the creator.

 1 John 3:8 (NIV)

8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil

God has given us everything we need to stand against all attacks of the enemy.

 Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV)

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Finally .. of all  the things that Paul just shared, he wants us to pay attention to this.

Our battle is not against people. Our battle begins in the spiritual realm.

We are called to stand firm in the midst of spiritual warfare with God’s power, God’s armor and in prayer.

Belt of Truth - we stand on the truth of God’s Word.

John 14:6 (NIV)

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Breastplate of Righteousness - the only thing between the enemy and the soldier’s heart.

When we accept Christ, God sees us differently.

 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)

21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Shoes of Peace - Jesus Himself is our peace. In that peace we are ready to fulfill what God had for us.

Shield of Faith - This covered all the rest of the armor. It consumes the fiery darts (accusations, deceptions, lies and fear)

We fight our battles through prayer but we win through the shield of faith.

Small Groups are so important because we can lock our shields of faith together.

Helmet of Salvation - God guard my mind.

Sword of the Spirit - The word of God.

 Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

May we come out of 21 Days of prayer for a commitment and hunger for God’s Word.

Rhema - it is the spoken word that jumps off the pages and comes into our hearts. It gives us power and direction.

God gives us this weaponry so when the battle comes, we are prepared.

4x Paul says for us to STAND

We may not realize it when we pray but every demon experiences it.

21 Days of Prayer - Day 16 -Monday- August 21, 2023-- Prayer Focus – Walls Fall Down

21 Days of Prayer - Day 16 -Monday- August 21, 2023-- Prayer Focus – Walls Fall Down

When He moves and when we pray, where there stood a wall, there now is a way.

 God makes ways through walls.

You may have started today with a wall, but today know God will make a way.

Isaiah 43:16-19 (NIV)

This is what the Lord says—  he who made a way through the sea,

a path through the mighty waters, 17 who drew out the chariots and horses,

the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: 18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.19 See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness   and streams in the wasteland.

Our God is a Way Maker.

Where there was a Jericho wall, it fell.

Where there was a Goliath wall, he fell.

Where there was a wall of leprosy - there was healing.

Where there was a wall of sin / death - Jesus made a way by the cross.

God will bring you freedom today. God will break the chains. That thing you have been praying for - He will do.

God is bringing healing in Jesus’ name. God is bringing restoration in Jesus’ name.

Where there are walls, God makes a way.

Mark 11:22-24 (NIV)

22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Have faith: “God, I trust you because I know you.”

WE need to remind ourselves about who God is.

He is just, Faithful, a good Father, love, eternal, kind.. Never ending. We know who He is.

We are not praying aimless prayers, we are aiming them at Who He is.

I trust you because I know you.  I have that conviction. I know who you are.

Release That Faith, We know what He can do.

Speak Our Faith: “God, I ask for the wall of ____ to come down in Jesus’ name.

Walk In Faith: We’re Praying God’s Word

God I put my issues  in your hands and I’m trusting you with them.
