S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge - Day #21, June 21, 2023 "There Is No Need Too Small That Escapes God's Attention."

S. 2 Kings 6:5-7 (NIV) 5 As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. “Oh no, my lord!” he cried out. “It was borrowed!”

6 The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. 7 “Lift it out,” he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it.

O. I think this story is here not so much to record Elisha having a double portion of Elijah’s spirit, but perhaps to simply communicate there is no need too small that escapes God’s attention. What a great reminder that God is interested in every aspect of our life and I think He wants us to know that about Him.

A. What a great reminder that builds me up - it emboldens my faith. It reminds me of the song, “His Eye is on the Sparrow” and Jesus’ teachings from Matthew 6 - that we have no need for fear, God takes care of every aspect of our lives.

P. Thank you Lord for this refreshing word today. There isn’t anything about our lives that escapes your attention. Holy Spirit continue to fill me and lead me with wisdom, knowledge, love and faith. In Jesus’ name.

S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge - Day #20 June 20, 2023 "God Can Use Whatever You Have"

S. 2 Kings 4:2-5 (NIV) The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”

2 Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”

“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”

3 Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. 4 Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”

5 She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. 6 When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”

But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

7 She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”

O. This widow needed to pay her bills. Elisha wanted to help, asking her what she had in her house. She only had a flask of oil. Yet that single flask of oil, when blessed by God, was abot keep providiong more than enough oil to later be sold and pay the bills.

If we just give to God the things that we have in our possession and trust Him do the rest - He is willing and able to pour out so much blessing to provide whatever our needs may be.

A. Rather than think I have limited resources and thereby limited in what I can accomplish, I will, by faith, give to God what He has put in my hands and trust him to use it for His ultimate glory and for me to accomplish the task He has set before me.

P. Thank you Lord for this word. Thank you that you do not leave us without resource - in fact, you are our greatest resource. Holy Spirit fillme and guide me to entrust to you what you have placed in my hands that you might expand it and use it for your glory and honor. In Jesus name.

S.O.A.P. 30 Day Challenge - Day #19 - June 19, 2023 "God Can Simply Do Great Things"

S. 2 Kings 3:14-18 (NIV) 14 Elisha said, “As surely as the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, if I did not have respect for the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not pay any attention to you. 15 But now bring me a harpist.”

While the harpist was playing, the hand of the Lord came on Elisha 16 and he said, “This is what the Lord says: I will fill this valley with pools of water. 17 For this is what the Lord says: You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink. 18 This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord; he will also deliver Moab into your hands.

O. Three kings rallied together to defeat Moab - yet if appeared they would lack basic, essential resources to even survive. Yet - they asked God and through the prophet, God let them know that not only would their basic resources be met, they would have victory in the war over Moab.

A. I am 18 months into our church plant and I wonder at times of we have the basic resources we need to face spiritual warfare and win the hearts and souls for Jesus. Yet I know God can simply do great things if we persist and trust Him.

P. Thank you Father for your word today. Lord Jesus, fill our desert with pools of your life giving water and give us victory in captureing hearts, minds and souls for you. I believing you can simply do great things.
