S. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (NIV) 4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
O. Paul teaches that it is the Holy Spirit (Pneuma/Spirit) who distributes the gifts (Charis - gifts of Grace). It is the Lord Jesus (Kurios - Lord/Master) who provides and models the opportunities to serve (diakonia - serve/minister) others. It is God the Father (Theos - God) who then takes the gifts and service, energizing it and creating wonderful (my own descriptive term) effects in the lives of those He works through.
What a beautiful description of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) working through each of us when we faithfully make ourselves available.
A. I continue to be impressed by this teaching that God simply desires for me (all of us) to be faithfully available to what only He can do - and when we do, He does! The Trinity works together to produce wonderful results when we are available for these opportunities of God.
P. Thank you Father for this wonderful teaching - the administration of the gifts is all part of what you do - We don’t really do anything more than faithfully make ourselves available for the opportunites that you have for us. I will continue to make myself available for the opportunities that you have for me. Thank you!
