Trust In God's Process - Mark 4:26-29

S. Mark 4:26-29 “He (Jesus) also said, ‘ This is what the Kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain - first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest is ripe.”

O. Jesus teaches that the Kingdom of God involves a process of planting, growth and harvesting. There is our part and then there is God’s part. WE are to plant, wait and be ready to harvest. The waiting can be difficult because we want results right now. Jesus teaches diligence, faith and readiness.

A. I am one who likes to see instant results - but I realize time is involved. There is a process to follow.

“Trust the process” is a contemporary term - yet it is also a Kingdom term. k

God has a process for His work. He desires for those whom He saves, gifts and calls, to do their part, but not the “whole part.” We are to practice diligence with our gifts, faith that God will work and readiness to harvest or to bring about what God has prepared.

P. Thank you Father for this word today. Holy Spirit fill me and guide me to go where you want me to go, to plant seeds (diligence), to trust the Father’s process (faith) and to be ready for the harvest. In Jesus’ name!
